Inez "Bug" Carr Campbell, 87 years old, passed away at home in Cocoa, Florida on Sunday, March 13, 2011, after a long illness. Mrs. Campbell lived with her youngest son, David and his wife, Judy since leaving the area, along with their children, Jeremiah and Kari (now Bollinger). In addition to David and family, Mrs. Campbell is survived by Gary (son) and Berniece Campbell of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Charles "Butch" (son) and Diana Campbell of Cocoa, Florida, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Campbell originates from the A. H. Carr family of the Yawn community, and is survived by or preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Mrs. Campbell was of the Christian faith, practicing as a Methodist. Mrs. Campbell was occupied for a brief time during World War II in a chemical plant that supported the war effort in Port Arthur, TX. After the war, she married Mr. Wallace R. Campbell of the Tallowah community; Mr. Campbell, known by many as Sergeant Campbell, preceded her in death many years ago. Mrs. Campbell was a housewife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was an expert seamstress, quilter and crafter. She raised several German Shepard dogs to become excellent guard dogs. Mrs. Campbell enjoyed classical music and was an excellent oral historian and 'story-teller.' After leaving the area, she became a self-taught artist and won several awards at local art shows; her main artistic focus was on landscapes and old barns.
Services & internment for Mrs. Campbell will be at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home and Park in Cocoa Florida on Thursday, March 17th, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and may be made to Hospice of St. Francis at 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, Florida 32780; the family will receive acknowledgement.
