Mr. Paul Albert Armstrong, 74, of Madisonville, KY died at 8:22 A.M. Thursday July 3, 2008, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Born May 13, 1934 Lexington TN. He was the son of the late L.T. and Mary Ella Hay Armstrong.

Mr. Armstrong was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville, the former principal of Browning Springs Middle School and James Madison Middle School, the former President of Kentucky Middle School Association, he was a public servant and educator of children for many years. He was also a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Lamoine H. Armstrong of Madisonville; two sons and daughters-in-laws, David (Shelley) Armstrong of St. Louis, MO, Jon (Emily) Armstrong of Naperville, IL, one grandson, Matthew Paul Armstrong of St. Louis, and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Naomi Hughes of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and after 12:00 Noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Myers, Dr. Ted Beck, Ralph Taylor, David Green, Carl Barnett, Bill Murphy, Brad Myers and Lanny Woodward. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Young, Harold Phillips and Ruby Vinson.

Memorials may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
