Mr. Herbert Lee Testerman, 83, of Hyattstown,. died Thursday, March 4, at his home.
He was the husband of Gladys Lockie Testerman. He was born April 26, 1915, in Grayson County, Va.
Mr. Testerman had been an employee of Maryland National Park and Planning Commission, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Clarksburg Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Scotty L. Testerman and wife Flora of Clarksburg, Charles W. Testerman and wife Debra of Walkersville, Iva Castro and husband Dan of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Carol Bladen and husband Austin of Rockville; 17 grandchildren, Scotty L. Jr., Herbert A., Roger Keith, Carol Ann, Charles W. Jr., Christine, Shaun, Roger and Kyle Testerman, Dwight Rice, Robert Brooks, Sheila Freezer, Dianne Lynn Perrey, Jacqueline Lee Dixon, Iva Linda Burns, Barbara Lynn Butt and Rhea Denise Crist; 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. Funeral services will begin at l p.m. Monday, March 8, at the funeral home. The Revs. Roger Fair and Timothy W. Sersen officiating. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to Home Call Hospice of Columbia.
