RIVERDALE – Neil Cook, 89, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital of causes incident to age.

He was born September 14, 1921 in Ammon, Idaho, a son of Omer and Genevie Molen Cook. He grew up in Bountiful, Utah and graduated from Davis High School where he met his first love.

Neil married LoRhea Montgomery on June 27, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two children, Bruce and Madelynn. They were married for 53 years before LoRhea preceded him in death on August 27, 1994. He married his second love, Lucille Sharp, on May 20, 1995 and they were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple in May of 2005.

Neil served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a very service oriented member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving missions at the Ogden Temple, Ogden Inner-City Mission and the Dixie College Institute Mission. He loved attending the temple and his calling as a Ward Clerk.

Neil retired from Hill Air Force Base as a Data Manager following many years of service. He also built houses and was a very hard worker

Neil loved his garden and everyone considered him a master gardener. He loved B.Y.U., the Jazz and golfing – making a hole-in-one. He looked forward to spending winters in St. George every year.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille, of Riverdale and St. George; one son, Bruce (Terry) Cook, Ogden; one daughter, Madelynn (Paul) Sherrick, Roy; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one sister, Genevie (Hal) Schultize, Richfield, UT.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, one brother, one sister and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale 1st Ward Chapel, 1056 West 4400 South.

Family will meet with friends at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, West Point City Cemetery.
