We were living at East Bountiful when the time came to dedicate the Salt Lake Temple. I was glad I was eight years old so I could go to the dedication. Father, Olive and Alvie went one day to the dedication and mother and I went the next day. Oh, that was a wonderful time for me in the Temple.

When we reached the top room where the dedication prayer was given, I heard the most beautiful singing I have ever heard. It sounded like thousands were singing. I jumped up from my seat and looked around and I could not see anyone singing. I said to mother, "Where is that singing coming from?" Mother said she could not hear any singing. I said, "Oh, just listen, it sounds like thousands of them." Then mother said, "Be quiet and listen to the singing, you are talking out loud." I did be quiet and listen to those thousands singing their praises to the Lord. And how they did sing! Hosanna! Hosanna! to the Lord and their voices went higher and higher. The singing sounded to me like it was coming from outside the Temple.

After it was over we found out it was the angels doing the singing and not everyone heard it, just a few and I was one of those few.

As we went on through the Temple I saw the Prophet Joseph Smith sitting in one of the rooms we had to pass. He was with a beautiful lady and some little children. I started to crawl under the ropes that were along the hall and said to mother, "Come on, lets go in and sit down, there are two chairs we can sit in." Mother grabbed me by the arm and said. "I can't see anyone in that room." When I saw the Prophet Joseph Smith in that room he was a better looking man than any picture of him I have seen. I was not the only one that heard that wonderful singing of those thousands and saw the Prophet Joseph Smith, These things are as clear and plain to me today as they were the day I saw and heard them in the Salt Lake Temple at the dedication. I am 67 years old while writing and copying this and I still see and remember these incidents like they were yesterday.
