Calvin G. Lane
MIDDLEPORT - Calvin G. Lane, 82, Middleport, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1993 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
He was born Nov. 12, 1910 in Calhoun County, W.Va., the son of the late C.M. and Edocie Jane Hoover Lane.
He was a former welder with the Lippsett Steel Co. and was a retired street supervisor for the Village of Pomeroy.
He was a veteran of World War II and received six Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Metal, and an American Campaign Medal. He was a member of American Legion Feeney-Bennett Post No. 128, Middleport.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Frances Hill Lane of Middleport; three sons, Tom Lane of Racine, Steven Lane of Middleport, and George lane of Coopersville, Mich.; a sister, Lilly Cottrell of Zanesville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Homer Lane; and three sisters, Nellie Russell, Alice Lane, and Rosey Lynch.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Fisher Funeral Home, Middleport, with the Rev. James Keesee officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 6-9 p.m.
