Dr. Smith (AUB '67), 66, Ocala, Fla., died Dec. 22, 2006. He owned the Animal Medical Clinic in Ocala for 34 years. Dr. Smith is survived by a daughter. His brother, Dr. C. Perry Smith (AUB '64), and nephew, Dr. Perry F. Smith (MIS '91), are veterinarians in Miami and East Palatka, Fla., respectively. Memorials may be made to the Marion County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit (please indicate K-9 Unit on memo line), 692 N.W. 30th Ave., Ocala, FL 34475.

SMITH, D.V.M., JERRY MARVIN, 66 Ocala - Jerry Marvin Smith, D.V.M., 66, of Ocala, passed away on Dec. 22, 2006 at the Marliere Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey. Moving here 64 years ago from Conway, S.C., Dr. Smith practiced as a veterinarian for 34 years in Ocala operating the Animal Medical Clinic. He is survived by his daughter Kimberlee Smith Corbitt of Crystal Beach, FL; brother Frank Smith of Summerfield and brother Perry Smith, D.V.M. of Miami. He was preceded in death by a brother, Juddy Smith, in May 2001. There will be an Open House Celebration of Life for Dr. Smith on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 from 4 PM - 8 PM at The County Club at Silver Springs Shores, 565 Silver Road in Ocala. There will be a brief memorial program at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Marion County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, (please specify the K-9 unit on the memo line of the check), 692 NW 30th Ave., Ocala, FL 34475. FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, Ocala, handling the arrangements.
