Otto C. Schofield, a veteran of World War II army service, died April 30 at the Marion veterans hospital from a perforated ulcer of the stomach.

He had lived his life in the Cisne vicinity and was never married.

Otto C. son of Charles T. and Emma Jane Porter Schofield, was born in Wayne county February 21, 1901.

He served with an army medical detachment from October 12, 1942 to March 8, 1943.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Omer, and one sister, Mildred.

Surviving are five sisters, Mae Homan, Lela Hilliard, Faye Truax, Violet Truax, and Gladys Smith.

The Cisne Gresham Post No. 603, American Legion, was in charge of military rites.

Services were held at DeSelms Funeral Home with interment in Veterans cemetery.
