Ruth Teague, 88

NOV. 2, 1927—MARCH 3, 2016

BLOOMINGTON — Ruth (Brown) Teague passed away at her home on March 3, 2016.

She was born in Monroe County November 2, 1927, the eighth of fifteen children of Price and Alma Mae (Fleetwood) Brown. She married Robert Teague on April 26, 1947, and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage until he passed away June 5, 2010.

Ruth and Robert spent over four decades on their dairy farm in Kirksville. While Robert worked for a while at jobs away from the farm and Ruth worked a quarter-mile away at Kirksville School, the center of their lives was the farm, their garden, their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. They were best friends, separated only by death and now, by the grace of God, they are together again forever.

Together they raised three children: Robert Stephen “Steve” (Joyce), Mary Lou (Kessler) and Sherry Lynn (Larry Stephens), all of Bloomington. She was the proud grandmother of Robin (Chris Langley) and Jimmy (Melissa) Teague, Jennifer (Thomas Harp) and Kevin, Jared and Justin Evans. She also enjoyed her five great-grandchildren: Allyson, Caleb and Amelia Langley, Nathan Harlow and Tyler Teague. She is also survived by sisters Elva Richardson, Ila Deckard, Georgia Chambers, Sue Calvert, Vera Kinser and Wanetta Wisley.

Passing before her were siblings Leona Krebbs, Belva Marie Brown, Hazel Hill, Russell Brown, Lesta Hawkins, Maxine Shields, Virgil Brown and Vanga Moore.

The family thanks her doctors, the nurses from IU Health Hospice and the caregivers from Home Instead.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Stinson officiating. Burial will follow at Walker’s Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She will be sorely missed by friends and family, but we look forward to a reunion with her and Robert some glad morning. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allencares.com.
