Florence M. Talkington 1950-2008

MINOOKA -- Florence M. Talkington, 58, of Minooka, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with the Rev. Kris Zierke of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born July 21, 1950, in Ottawa, to Arvin and Kathaleen (Abell) Tongate. She was the custodian supervisor for the Plainfield School District. She also was a waitress at the Lone Star Restaurant in Channahon for many years.

Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Swiggett of Peoria, Ariz., Beth (Harvey) Joseph of Wilmington and Sarah Talkington of Dyer, Ind.; one son, David (Laurie) Swiggett of Westmont; four grandchildren, Julia and Zachary Swiggett, Maelyn Roach and Morgan Johnson; her father, Arvin Tongate of Ottawa; four sisters, Linda (Douglas) Leach of Kankakee, Sheila (Danny) Burress of Campbellsville, Ky., Kathy Valle of Ottawa and Glenda (Dan) Williams of Alaska; and one brother, Willard (Kala) Tongate of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Memorials may be directed to Will County Animal Shelter.
