Boyce Todd, Educator, Saluda Superintendent

Saluda - Services for Boyce Todd, 66, of 612 Waters Ave. will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Saluda Presbyterian Church, with burial in West Travis Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ramey Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church or Saluda High School Library.

Mr. Todd died Friday, April 17, 1992. Born in Loris, he was a son of the late Grier Haddon and Nancy Glen Grainger Todd. A graduate of Clemson University in 1948, he received his bachelor's degree in agricultural education and his master's degree in education. He taught vocational agriculture at Saluda High School until 1965, when he was named principal. He then became superintendent of Saluda District 1 until he retired in 1983. He had various state championships with his soil testing and livestock judging teams. the vocational wing that was added to Saluda High School in 1980 was named the Boyce Todd Vocational Wing.

He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member and elder of Saluda Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Scurry Todd; sons, Grier Todd of Atlanta, George Todd of Saluda and Joseph Todd of Columbia; a daughter, Jane Todd of Columbia; sisters, Edith Ford of Florence and Carolyn Toff of Loris; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
