DAHMER, Howard Walter 1934-2011 Peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital, on Friday, March 11, 2011, in his 77th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Kathleen "Kathy" (Nee: McAllister) for 54 years. Loving father of Margaret Thomas and her husband Jeremy of Port Sydney, Paul Dahmer and his wife Michaela of Kitchener and Craig Dahmer and his wife Sharon of Kitchener. Devoted grandfather of Gerard Hachey and his partner Kim, Michael Hachey and his partner Starla, Victoria Dahmer, Matthew Dahmer, Miranda Thomas and her partner Seguin and Eli Thomas. Proud great-grandfather of Lisa, Tristan and Kaden. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews Keith Mussar and his wife Debra, Bruce Duncan and his wife Judy, Nancy Boudreau and her husband Gary and Carolyn Duncan. Missed by brother-in-law Hugh Duncan and his wife Ruthe as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Edner and Irene (nee Schmidt) Dahmer and sister Doris Mussar and her husband Tony. Howard was a longtime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Kitchener, and was active on the church council and served as Chairman. He enjoyed camping trips and spending time at the cottage at Buck Lake near Huntsville. He was a talented Woodworker and bird carver. Howard had a 27 year career at KCI as a shop teacher before his retirement in 1989. He will be sadly missed. Friends are invited to share their memories of Howard with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate his life and faith will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church (248 Highland Rd. East, Kitchener), at 1 p.m. with Rev. Katherine Altenburg to officiate. Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener following the service.
