Leo was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery in New York Mills.
Leo died on June 5, 1998, at the Elder's Home in New York Mills.
Born on July 24, 1912, in Leaf Mountain Township, rural Urbank, Leo Math was the son of John P. and Amelia S. (Klimek) Cichy.
Leo began well drilling with his father when he was 7 years old. In 1928, the Cichy family moved to New York Mills. From April 10, 1942, until October 9, 1945, Leo served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Edna Ojala in Sisseton, SD. In 1962. He established his own well drilling business in New York Mills. He retired in 1974, after being in the well drilling business for 45 years. During his retirement, Leo enjoyed working with his nephew Rick drilling wells.
Fishing, deer hunting, and visiting were favorite past times along with well drilling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edna, brother Raymond and two sisters Marcella Rosenthal and Regina Haggenstad.
Two brothers Anton (Eleanor) Cichy and Max Cichy, both of Dent, a sister Agnes Paul of Perham, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends survive him.
