Charles Christopher Gilmartinm 68, a retired Washington police officer, who later worked as a security guard at Vitro Corp in Silver Spring, died Feb 13 at Montgomery General Hospital aftera heart attack. Mr. Gilmartin, who lived in Olney, was born in New York City. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He moved to the Washington area and joined the DC police around 1950, and he retired in 1972. Later he worked 12-1/2 years for Vitro Corp as a security guard and also in the mailroom. He retired from there in 1988. Survivors include his wife Rosetta Gilmartin of Olney, two children, Mary Ann Cummins of Rockville and Charles Christopher Gilmartin II of Olney, one sister Katherine Brennan of New York, and one grandson.
