Heinie Gebauer was born Nov. 16, 1911 in Alton, to Wilhelm Henry Gebauer and Henrietta (Romberg) Gebauer, the fourth of nine children. At the age of 15 Heinie left school to work as a baker. HE worked for Wilson Bakery in Hawarden. He married Gladys Alvina Heuer on April 29, 1935, they moved to Plymouth County. They farmed until November 1978, when they retired and moved into Hawarden. Gladys Gebauer died on Dec. 5, 2000.
Survivors include: sons, Larry of Bailey, Colo., Marty of Ireton, Jeff of Sioux City; daughter, Connie Clementsen of Longmont, Colo., 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Helen Gebauer of Orange City and Wilmina Gebauer of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Jack, Ralph, Bill, Judy and Gus; and three sisters, Ann, Jeanette and Shirley.
