George's father is George W Williams (1816-1860). George was only 5 years old when his father died. He lived near the household of Benjamin Cohee and was treated as if he were part of the family.
The 1860 census states that he was born in Delaware but all other censuses state that he was born in Maryland.
He married Benjamin's daughter, Mary Caroline "Carrie" COHEE in 1885. They had the following children: George Washington, Carrie Eveline, and Mary Alice. There were also 2 boys that died in childhood - Harry and Ernest Kennedy.
