Son of Andrew J. and Ava Bowles Lawson. He married Mary Elizabeth Patterson. They had the following children:

Fletcher Lawson 1870-1957
James Lawson 1875-1941
Joseph Lawson 1878-1887
Frank Rowland Lawson 1881-1964
Abbie Mae Lawson 1883-1959

Civil War Veteran. he enlisted and served as a drummer boy.

Survived by three sons: Frank, James, and Fletcher Lawson, all residing in the Murrayville area; and a daughter, Mrs. Annie Harney of Jacksonville, IL.
