Mr. John H. Baumbaugh, 82, of Dickerson, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville.

He was the loving husband of Olive Baumbaugh.

Born May 13, 1928, in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Jerry Baumbaugh.

He was the owner of Bud's Lock and Key and served in the Air Force from 1946 to 1948.

He was the beloved father of John W. Baumbaugh of Poolesville and Holly Leola Hammarlund and husband, Leif, of Frederick; grandfather of John and Lindsey Baumbaugh, Jared Hammarlund and wife, Noel, of Jefferson, Jonathan Hammarlund and wife, Kelly, of Missouri, Cherith McClaskey and husband, Joshua, of Jefferson, and Kirsten and Andrew Hammarlund, both of Frederick; great-grandfather of Aiden, Taylor and Chace; and stepbrother of Diane Wringler of North Carolina and Joyce Oaks of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Streilein; and a niece, Roxy Minor.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Md. 109, Barnesville; hiltonfh.com.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at Barnesville Baptist Church, 17917 Barnesville Road, Barnesville. Interment will follow in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barnesville Baptist Church.
