Services for Stuart Richard Steadman, 73, of Rock Island are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, with the Rev. Kenneth Kline officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. American Legion Post 227, East Moline, will accord military rites.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a Masonic service by Hamilton Lodge 664 at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Masonic Home.
He died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
He was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Rock Island, the son of Harry E. and Bess P Ihrig Steadman.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Bettendorf Masons-Hamilton Lodge 664, American Legion Post 227, East Moline, and the Catfish Jazz Society. Living across from Saukie Golf Course, he enjoyed golf in every way.
He was employed by International Harvester, East Moline, for 30 years until retiring as an inspector in 1992.
Survivors (and spouses) are his daughter, Ava Jo (Matt) Simmons, Sherrard; many cousins including Rick (Rita) Miller, Rock Island; son-in-law, Patrick Henneberry, Chicago; grandchildren, Andy Simmons, and Steven, Mary and Meredith Henneberry. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Annette.
