Ane Katrine and her husband Christian,joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Denmark. They wanted to come to America and join the Saints in Utah. In order to do this, when there were 2 'Mormon' missionaries returning to Utah from Denmark, they would send 2 of their children with the missionaries to Utah. A child's ticket was half price if the child was under 12 years of age and so this was why they tried to send their children before their 12th birthday. Eventually Ane and her husband, Christian, were able to join their family in Utah.
