Amy Loraine Lindsey Ross was born on Nov. 15, 1925, in Devine, TX to Rufus E. and Dovie Etha Cude Lindsey. She married Emory Abner Ross on Jan. 27, 1946, in San Antonio, TX and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2008. In 1946, Mr. and Mrs. Ross moved from San Antonio to Carthage. They owned and operated a service station in Carthage for 18 years, until their retirement in 1976. Mrs. Ross was a member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church where she was involved in the U.M.W. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and three sisters.
Mrs. Ross is survived by two sons, Bobby Saddler and wife Mellie of Keithville and Roger Sadler and wife Sandra of Carthage; one brother, Elmer Lindsey and wife Elizabeth of Pearsall; sister-in-law, Mary Holland and husband Jerry of Carthage; five grandchildren, Farrell Sadler and wife Lesley, Debra Anderson and husband Joey, Steven Sadler and wife Lacy, Missy Sadler and Bobby Williams, and John Fred Saddler; and four great-grandchildren, Casey Sadler, Sarah Anderson, Sam Anderson, and Christopher Ross Noble. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Ross.
Serving as pallbearers are Bubba Sadler, Scooter Sadler, John Fred Saddler, Christopher Ross Noble, Sam Anderson, and Todd Schweikhardt.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Robert Earl Smith, Bobby Williams, Frank Haltom, and Mike Dartez.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Anil Veluvolu and the nurses and staff of Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and the Heritage Manor South Nursing Home in Shreveport for the loving care given to Mrs. Ross.
