PALERMO - Cora L. Brisley, 89, of the Arnold Lane Road, in Palermo, died June 5, 1995, at a Waterville nursing home after a long illness. She was born in Oakfield, Nov. 15, 1905, the daughter of John and Susan Morton Gerrish. Educated in the schools of Oakfields, she had worked for many years as a nurses aide at the Folsom Nursing Home in Houlton. Cora attended the Palermo Christian Church. Her husband, Guy Brisley, died several years ago. Survivors include numerous foster children whom she raised; a sister, Grace Cole of Kennebunk; a sister-in-law, Harriette Clark of Oakfield, as well as man nieces and nephews including Jacqueline Gerrish of Palermo, Francina Haskell of Palermo, Madeline Bartol of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Frank Gerrish of Naples. There will be no calling hours. funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Thursday from the Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., fairfield, with the Rev. Ed Hatch of Palermo officiating. A graveside committal service will be at Oakfield Cemetery 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. James Flye of Island Falls officiating.
