Age 84, of Owosso, Mich., died Friday June 29, 2001 at his home.
Mr. Tyler retired in 1981 from the Lansing Capital Area Transit Authority after 18 years of service.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Monday July 2, 2001, with the Rev. Norman R. Beckwith Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The body will rest at Jennings-Lyons Funeral Chapel, Owosso. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Tyler was born Aug. 6, 1916 in Redstone, Mich., the child of Providence "Elmer" and Myrtle (Husted) Tyler.
He was a lifelong Owosso resident.

On June 1, 1980, he married Colleen White at the Trinity United Methodist church in Owosso, where he was a member.

Mr. Tyler is survived by his wife Colleen Tyler of Owosso; by sons Edward (Janet) Tyler of Owosso; and Gary (Suzette)Tyler of Lansing, by a step-son, Richard (Lucille) White of Laingsburg; by a step-son-in-law, Carl Homes of Carpenter , IL; by three grandchildren seven step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren; and by one brother Virgil Tyler of Lennon.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Lois, by four brothers, five sisters and his step-daughter Joanne.

Memorials are to the Trinity United Methodist Church or the Karmanos Cancer Center are suggested.
