Terry Lee Hammond, 53, of Casey, IL formerly of Martinsville, IL passed away at 2:39 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. He was born November 5, 1957, in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Warren Lee "John" Hammond and Marjorie Lee Burris Hammond. On September 14, 2001, he married Cynthia L. Markwell in Hazel Dell, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Hammond of Casey, IL; stepdaughters, Megan Markwell and fiancé Anthony Scheff of Chicago, IL and Macy Markwell of Casey, IL; stepson, Mitchell Markwell of Mattoon, IL; sisters, Vicki Jean Gee and husband Tommy and Carol Ann McMillan and husband Perry all of Tucson, AZ; mother in law, Harriet Laymon of Hazel Dell, IL; aunts, Betty Darling of Casey, IL and Lucy Montgomery and husband Lloyd of Martinsville, IL; uncle, Bill Burris and wife Carole of Casey, IL; brothers and sisters in law, Becky Coleman of Casey, IL, Gene Laymon and wife Sandy and Tim Laymon and wife Sheila, all of Hazel Dell, IL; nieces and nephews, Amy Rivers and husband Stuart, Scott Gee and wife Anne, Kathy Elsesser and husband Frank, Chris Gordon and wife Rebecca, Greg Gordon, Crystal Roe and husband Rusty, Carrie Patrick and husband Darrin, Caryn Parli and husband Tim, Lyn Cochonour and husband Bryan, Seth Laymon, Kylie Murphy and husband Nick, Tatum, Trista, Tyndal and Teal Green and many cousins. He was preceded by his parents, father in law, Charlie Laymon, and many aunts and uncles.

Terry was a life long farmer, working with his dad on the family farm since he was a small child. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church. Terry was a 1976 graduate of Martinsville High School, where he was a recipient of the John Phillip Sousa award and as he would say, "A Graduate of the University of Cleone." He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and stockholder. He was well known as "ACL" for organizing the "Moonshine Lunch Run," the annual motorcycle run he founded in 2005. He was a member of the North Fork Soil and Water Conservation, the Iron Butt Association and Bleacher Creatures.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Casey United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Bean Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Casey United Methodist Church, 703 N State Hwy 49, Casey, IL.

In honor of Terry, memorial donations and contributions may be made to one of the many organizations benefiting from the "Moonshine Lunch Run," the Casey Fire Department, Martinsville Fire Department, Casey Food Pantry and Crisis Pregnancy Center.
