Her aged husband and nine children survive her, James E. and Samuel L. dying in infancy. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers. The family moved to Illinois in the winter of 1863. In 1867 they moved to their home in Woodstock, where she spent the remainder of her life. In 1883 she was converted and gave her heart to the Lord, uniting with the Christian church on Ripley; was immersed by Rev. C. B. Noonan, and lived a consistent Christian life. She kept the faith and has gone to her reward. Funeral services were held at the residence at 2 p.m. Sept. 8, conducted by Rev. John A. Hawkins of Ripley. Interment in the Palm Cemetery.
