Art was a Spitfire fighter pilot during WWII and served with RCAF Squadron No. 441 (motto: "Stalk and Kill"). He flew numerous sorties over France and once walked away from a crash after being shot down behind enemy lines. In his later years, he delighted in sharing tales of his air force adventures but we know he was also scarred by the horrors he witnessed during those years.

Art loved to play the piano at every opportunity - for the family, while visiting friends in the hospital or nursing home, even on the baby grand at a local supermarket. He also loved to dance and was quite a charmer with the ladies.

Rest in peace, Art, and know that you will be fondly remembered.
