Wedding Announcement

Boyds, Md. Nov. 20 (1912) — In the presence of a large assemblage, Miss Anna L. Darby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. W. Darby, of Barnesville, and Mr. John O. Pyles, of Maysville, Ky., were married at 2:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon of last week in the Episcopal Church at Barnesville. The rector, Rev. Dr. Bushby, officiated. The church was attractively decorated with autumn leaves, cut flowers, potted plants and evergreens.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Louise Hodges, of Takoma Park, as maid of honor. The best man was Mr. J. Herbert Brown, of Barnesville, cousin of the bride, and the ushers were Messrs. Hatton D. Brown, cousin of the bride, and Harvey Harriss. Miss Laura White played the marches.

Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Pyles left for Washington in a automobile. The will make their home in Maysville, where the bridegroom is a prominent merchant. Tuesday evening the members of the bridal party were entertained at supper by the parents of the bride.

Mrs. Anna Laura Pyles, 81, died early Sunday morning at the Partnership Nursing Home in Poolesville.

She was the wife of the late John O. Pyles and a daughter of the late W. W. and Laura Jones Darby.

Surviving is one son, William Darby Pyles of Barnesville.

A member of the Barnesville Baptist Church, she received her education at Briarley Hall in Poolesville and Keymar College in Hagerstown. She was a postmistress at Sellman for 18 years until her retirement in 1951.

Friends may call at the Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Horace DuBois officiating. Interment in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
