TOWNSEND- IN West Chester, on Monday, August 22, 1892, Mary Ann, wife of Eber Townsend, in the 74th year of her age.

Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from her late residence 124 South New street, on Thursday morning, the 25th inst. Meet at the house at 10 o'clock. Leave at 11. Interment at Grove M.E. Burying ground, West Whiteland.

Mrs. Eber Townsend

Yesterday, Mrs. Mary A. Townsend, wife of Tipstaff Eber Townsend, aged 73 years died at her home, on South New street, from the infirmities consequent to old age. She had been quite ill for several months past. She leaves no children. Deceased had been a member of the West Chester Mutual Beneficial Association since its organization.

The funeral of Mrs. Eber Townsend took place this morning from her late home, on South New street, and was attended by a number of relatives and friends, several being present from Philadelphia, Coatesville and other points. The services at the house were conducted by Rev. J.H. Chambers, of the First Baptist Church. The remains reposed in a hard wood casket, and a sheaf of wheat rested on the top. The friends followed the hearse in carriages to the burying ground of the Grove M.E. Church, West Whiteland, where the interment was made. Among the pall-bearers were Mrs. Townsend's three nephews, George Sylvester, Ainsworth Wollerton and John Berry.
