Ted R. Burton

Ted R. Burton, 61, of Edinburgh, a wonderful Christian who loved the Lord, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Burton had worked as a reconditioning technician for area auto dealers and was a member of Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. He was an avid Dodgers fan and enjoyed baseball and basketball.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 905 S. Main St., with the Rev. Guy Hardin officiating. Calling will be at the church from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.

Born in Glasgow, Ky., Sept. 19, 1949, Mr. Burton was the son of Oris and Vontress Faye Withers Burton. He married Linda Perkins Dec. 29, 1972.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Stacey (David) Ware of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Dean and Shelby Floyd and Aaron Ware, all of Indianapolis; a brother, Hayden Burton, and a twin brother, Fred (Jackie) Burton, both of Edinburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Ted R. Burton, 61, a wonderful Christian man, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a resident of Edinburgh.

He was born Sept. 19, 1949, to the late Oris and Vontress Faye (Withers) Burton. He married Linda Perkins on Dec. 29, 1972. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Stacey (David) Ware of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Dean and Shelby Floyd and Aaron Ware, all of Indianapolis; two brothers, Fred (Jackie) Burton, his twin, and Hayden Burton, both of Edinburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
