DEER CREEK - Lena M. Berryman, 77, of Deer Creek passed away at 10:14 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born March 20, 1937, in New Bern, N.C., to John and Emma (Mercer) Buckner. She married Douglas Berryman on June 26, 1953, in New Bern, N.C. He preceded her in death on April 22, 2008.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Surviving are her three daughters, Shirley (David) Schumm of Deer Creek, Sheila Kenney of Peoria and Willie (Todd) Dourneen of Pekin; two sons, Doug (Gayle) Berryman of Corona, Ill., and John Berryman of Deer Creek; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one sister, Lois (Roger) Monette of New Bern, N.C.; and one brother, John (Hilda Ann) Buckner of North Carolina.

She was a member of The Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Buckeye Cemetery, with Pastor Fred Doughty officiating.

Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria.
