Gary L. Wells, 71, of RR2 Wyalusing, Pa., (Terry Twp.), passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at his home.
Born Nov. 1, 1938, in Towanda, Pa., he was the son of the late George V. Wells and Ida Hardenstine Wells.
Gary was a graduate of Towanda High Class of 1956.
Following high school he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1959.
In 1971 Gary started his career with Penn Southern Gas Company in Reidsville, N.C. and continued as Vice President at Penn Southern Gas Company in Sayre, Pa., before leaving in 1984.
Surviving are: his daughter, Deanna Wells of Spartanburg, S.C.; his son, David Wells and his wife Lori, of Athens, Pa.; two grandchildren, Eric Wells and Jennifer Wells, both of Athens; his long time friend, Nancy Leighton, of Monroeton, Pa.
In addition to his parents, George V. Wells on June 28, 1980 and Ida Wells on April 18, 1989, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Sillaman Wells on Jan. 9, 1995; a sister, Marilyn Raub; two brothers, George Wells and Gerald Wells.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Interment will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to Guthrie Hospice, One Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840 in Gary L. Wells memory.
