MELVIN GEORGE BORELL went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2011. Mel was born April 6, 1925, in Wilson, Kansas, to George and Amelia Borell, and resided in Redlands. He was a WWII Veteran who received a Purple Heart for his sacrifice and service to our country. He graduated from the University of Kansas and received his masters degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills. He was an Aerospace Engineer for 35 years. He is survived by sons, Daniel of Redlands, CA, and David of Temecula, CA; sister, Elfreida of Emporia, KS; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary, daughters, Patty and Carol. He was a great father, and had a positive influence on everyone who knew him. He will be profoundly missed. Family Graveside Service will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on Tues., March 15, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. Memorial Service will be held on Tues., March 15, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. at the Village Chapel, 310 South Wabash Ave., Redlands. Published in San Bernardino Sun on March 11, 2011.
