Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Laury Vining, 82, of 701 Thurston Avenue were held Sunday, May 22, 1994 at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard B. Long and Dr. J. Harold Smith officiated.
Burial followed in South View Cemetery.
Mrs. Vining died Friday, May 20, 1994 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Vining was a native of Ottawa, Kansas and had lived in Thomaston since 1936. She was the widow of the late James A. (Pete) Vining and retired from the Accounting Department of Thomaston Mills, Inc.
Mrs. Vining had been a Girl Scout leader and summer camp counselor and was a member of the Pine Valley Girl Scout leader and summer camp counselor and was a member of the Pine Valley Girl Scout Council. She was a former member of the John Houston Chapter, DAR. Mrs. Vining was a member of the Thomaston First United Methodist Church, member of the United Methodist Women, and a member of the Tumlin Sunday School class. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Marie) Vining Pettet of Marietta; a sister, Miss Eleanor Laury of Chicago, II.; a brother, Dr. David Laury of Skidaway Island and a granddaughter, Ms. Kelly Pettet of Atlanta.
