ARTHUR ENSTROM DIES SUNDAY, FUNERAL SERVICES ARE TOMORROW

Arthur Enstrom passed away December 23, 1962, at the Montrose Memorial Hospital, Montrose, Colorado.
Arthur Enstrom was born April 24, 1899, to Erik and Maria Enstrom in Ironwood, Michigan. He was the youngest of four children; Edwain R., Olga Erickson, both of Los Angeles, and Vera Waters, deceased.
Arthur moved to Nucla with his parents in 1905 from Ironwood, Michigan, where he was born. He attended grade and high school in Nucla, and spent one year at Colorado State University at Fort Collins. After leaving school he farmed and raised cattle, first with his father, then for himself.
On June 30, 1928, he married Kittie May King of Huston, Missouri. To this marriage were born two children, a son Herbert of Nucla, and a daughter Marianna Rice of Delta, who with Mrs. Enstrom and four grandchildren survive him.
In May 1936, Mr. Enstrom took the position of Case Worker, for the West End of Montrose County, with the Department of Public Selfare. He held this position until December 16, 1958, when he suffered a stroke and was forced to give up his work.
In his work with the Welfare Department, he was a prime example of the fact that intelligence, varied experiences, and common sense can, and sometime do, form a better basis for a specialized vocation, than technical education. He was a trusted and valuable member of the County Welfare Department staff, whose work was always of the highest order.
His sense of humor, his kindness, and thoughtfulness of others were personal characteristics which will be sorely missed and long remembered by his co-workers in the Welfare Department, as well as his multitude of friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 28, at the Nucla Congragational Church, with the Montrose Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
