Mary Ann Clinger, 89, of Ansley died on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at her son's home in North Platte after a brief battle with cancer.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Ansley with the Revs. Bob Hughbanks and Bill Ragan officiating.

Burial will be in the Ansley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with the family greeting friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A praise service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church in North Platte.

Mrs. Clinger was born on April 23, 1921, at home in Phelps County near Elm Creek to Arthur Carl and Myrtle (Carlson) Mattson.

She married Melvin Clinger on Jan. 25, 1945. He died in 1998.

Survivors of the immediate family include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Esther Focken and Max Chalupa of Scottsbluff, Sandra Ann Goodwater of Ansley and Melvina Delores and George Bundy of Ansley; three sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy Arthur and Vera Clinger of Kearney, Orin Mark and Becky Clinger of Kearney and Calvin and Pat Clinger of North Platte; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Harold Clinger, and his wife, Nelda; and one sister-in-law, Laura Bending of North Platte.
