Donald Edwin Conder

Mr. Conder, age 85, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born November 4, 1925 in Union County, he was the son of the late Eli Leslie Conder and Ila Mae Price Conder.

Mr. Conder founded Conder's Piano Service in 1954, maintaining the pianos in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System for 40 years. Following retirement, he worked at Lions' Services, Incorporated. Mr. Conder was a member of Abundant Life Lutheran Church. He was a former member of The National Federation of the Blind of Mecklenburg County and the North Charlotte Lions Club.

The service to celebrate the life of Donald Edwin Conder will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2011 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Barbara; son, Richard Conder; daughter, Ellen Conder Hartgrove and her husband, Bill. In addition to his parents, Mr. Conder was preceded in death by three sisters, Madeline Bingham, Dorothy Waller and Evelyn Hargett.
