IUKA – Opal L. Walker, 89, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Ludlam Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. James Voyles officiating. Burial will be in the Patrick Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Robert Walker and wife, Dorothy, of Summerville, Ala.; one son-in-law, "Boots" Edward White of Iuka; two daughters, Opal Faye Wright of Corinth and Martha Kennedy and husband, Russell, of Burnsville; four sisters, Geraldine Spivey, Betty Sue Brown, Frances Hargett and Virginia Goss, all of Alabama; 23 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Turner Sparks and Myrtle Mae Farris Sparks; her husband, William "Red" Walker; one daughter, Betty Sue White; two brothers, J.T Sparks and Eugene Sparks; one grandchild, Bobby Kennedy; and one great-grandchild, Jonathan Allred.

Pallbearers will be Shane Kennedy, Chris West, Averen Elders, David Robinson, Cody Hamm and Jeff White. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Owens, Doug Meier and Jason White.
