Annie Ruth (Hoffman) Worrell, 73, of Union City died April 10, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jimmy Brown and James Kinsey officiating. Burial will follow in Stanley's Chapel Cemetery near Union City. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 this evening. Her grandsons will be pallbearers. She was born Jan. 19, 1933, in Obion County, daughter of the late Alvin and Morene (Matheny) Hoffman. She married John Callicutt Worrell Dec. 19, 1952. He died Nov. 29, 1980. She was a retired employee of Martenn Ham in Martin, where she worked for 21 years, and she attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church No. 2 in Rives. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Bill Hatchett and Sue and Mike Moore, all of Union City; eight sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Carolyn Worrell, Terry and Frankie Worrell, Larry and Florence Worrell, Doug and Debra Worrell, Randy and Tammy Worrell, Pat and Sheila Worrell and Andy and Holly Worrell, all of Union City, and Wayne and Ramona Worrell of Brookport, Ill.; her brother, Thomas Hoffman of Yazoo City, Miss.; two sisters, Genell Taylor of Cleveland, Miss., and Nancy Geary of Louisville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pattie Worrell.
