Estherville – Services for Mrs. Lars (Johanna Bertina) Fransdal, 96, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Kermit Rye officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Monday, July 27, 1987 at Good Samaritan Center.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born October 10, 1890 at Rake, the daughter of Nels and Martha (Olson) Stokkeboe. She attended rural Rake schools. On November 17, 1910 she was united in marriage with Lars O. Fransdal at Rake. They moved to Estherville in 1912, where she was employed for many years by the P.G. Gray Co. She has been a resident of Good Samaritan Center since September, 1985. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and the Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3368.

Survivors include two sons Waldemar and Norman Fransdal, Estherville; two daughters: Joyce Olson, Estherville and Mrs. Vernon (Lois) Tweedt, Plano, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and one sister Clara Leithe, Britt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband who died in November, 1952; two grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and three half-sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 29, 1987)
