Barbara Ann Groves, 64, of Rush, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born July 11, 1946, in Boyd County. She was the only child of the late James E. Young and Nina Waugh Young.
She was a custodian with the Boyd County Board of Education with 11-plus years of service and a member of Straight Creek Nazarene Church.
Surviving are her husband, Donald E. Groves of Rush, a sister-in-law, Debbie Phillip Fryer of Boyd County, a brother-in-law, Michael L. Groves of Boyd County, several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Gary Salyers. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at the funeral home.
