Prophetstown, April 13. - Funeral services for William H. Adams, 85, for many years a resident of this city, were held at 2 yesterday afternoon in the Congregational church. Burial took place in Riverside cemetery. The Rev. I. C. Campbell officiated.

William Henry Adams was born in Delta, Oneida county, N. Y., Sept. 4, 1842 and came with his parents to this vicinity in 1857. He enlisted in the Union army Jan. 28, 1864 and was discharged July 12, 1865. On Sept. 4, 1866, he married Miss Lorraine Walker, who died in January, 1926. He farmed in Hume township until 1881 when he moved his family to Prophetstown. For many years he worked as a bridge carpenter.

He was a member of the local Odd Fellows organization and at various times had served as noble grand of that order. He was past commander of John A. Parrott post of the G.A.R. He attended the Congregational church of this city.

He is survived by one son, Henry W. Adams; and two daughters, Mrs. Simon Keiser and Mrs. Kathryn Hudson, all of this city.

Flags throughout the city yesterday afternoon were at half-mast as a tribute to Mr. Adams for his service during the Civil war.
