Jason Richard Brockmann, born in Englewood, CO September 24, 1992, was called home to his Lord and Savior March 4, 2011.

Jason moved with his family to San Juan Island, WA where he attended grades K-4. In 2003, he moved with his family to West Jordan, Utah and returned to WA in 2006. He started playing year round sports in kindergarten and played some combination of soccer, baseball, basketball, football and wrestling for the next 12 years.

Jason was currently a Senior at Meridian High School and was scheduled to graduate in June. He volunteered at the Lighthouse Mission for his Sr project. In the Fall of 2011 he planned to either start college and study Business and Accounting or take a year off to work in sales and build savings.

Jason had many admirable qualities and was energetic and open minded. He had a creative side and loved music and played the drums. He was also a very capable, persistent and intelligent student and his teachers said he was a "positive contributor to class" and a "good, steady worker." In the 7th grade, he tested at the 12th grade level for all subject areas. Though he excelled in many subjects including writing, reading and art, his favorite classes were History, Social Studies and Power Lifting. He was such a bright light in this world and the sky is "dull" now that he is physically gone.

A smile from Jason was like pure sunshine and everyone loved being around him and his fun loving style. Jason had such a sweetness and purity of purpose within and his manner of being was uplifting and calming to anyone struggling physically, emotionally, socially or spirtually. He was loved and valued by so many friends and family and was known for being very loyal and for never saying a bad word about anyone. He didn't judge others and modeled the love of Jesus perfectly by loving others unconditionally.

Jason was one of a kind and he touched and continues to touch so many lives. He lived life to the fullest and accomplished more in 18 years than most ever will. Jason was very generous and would forgo his own needs to help others. He didn't like anyone making a fuss over him and was unassuming and humble. John 15:13 says "Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends" and that is basically what Jason did the night of his passing. He loved "hanging out" with his many friends and was simply walking near his home to a friend's house to play video games when he was hit from behind by a truck. We are confident his spirit ascended to Heaven immediately upon impact.

As a final generous action, Jason gifted every available organ and tissue he could to promote and save the lives of many others.

Jason will be missed so greatly every day by his mother, Tammy Brockmann; his father, Ted Brockmann (Jan); his brother, Jeremy Brockmann; his grandparents, Richard and Darlene TroBaugh and Melburn and Marian Brockmann; numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and step siblings, and his cat, Pumpkin.

We welcome everyone to attend Jason's Celebration of Life Service, Thursday, March 10, 2011, 12:00 Noon, at North county Christ the King, 1816 18th St., Lynden. A Graveside Committal will follow at 3:30 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 5977 Northwest Dr., Ferndale.

Contributions may be made to the Jason Brockmann Benefit Account at any People's Bank branch. Checks can also be mailed to Peoples Bank, P.O. Box 233, Lynden, WA, 98264 Attn: Kim.
