Henry Arthur McKinney was the son of William Quail McKinney (1859 - 1938) and Elizabeth Louisa Rudolph (1859 - 1911). He was born on his grandfather's (Thalis Newton McKinney (1817 - 1886)) ranch in Uvalde Co., Texas. He was murdered by the advance forces of Pancho Villa two days prior to the massacre at Columbus, New Mexico.
