Maud Seward died November 23, 1973 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Maud was born to William Templeton and Nancy C. "Spencer" Templeton at Sabastian, Arkansas. Her older sister was Hulda Templeton, born November 1879. Her brother Robert B. Templeton, born June 1884.
Maud and James Dow Spain were married August 2, 1908 at Franklin, Arkansas, their son Forest Arnold Spain was born October 5, 1909. His father, James Spain's Military Service: Draft Registration Card, Ursula, Sabastian, Arkansas, June 5, 1917. On April 29, 1918 he died. Their only Child, Forest was 8 1/2 years old. James Dow Spain was buried at Lavaca City Cemetery, Lavaca, Arkansas. Some time later Maud married James M. Seward, they had a grocery store with old fashion gas pumps at several places, which provided them with some income. A slower time then-NO TV- she always had time for people. Most of all family and friends were the greatest importance to her. In World War II, her only child, son, Forest was a prisoner of War for a time, grieved her so. Then on December 5, 1947 Mr. Seward died.
Maud and her sister Hulda came to Warner, Oklahoma, they had a small store there for many years. She was a member of Warner First Baptist Church. Her son, Forest died April 22, 1969 at age 59, was so sad for her. She stayed in Warner until she was put in the nursing home in Okay, Oklahoma.
She died November 23, 1973 and is buried in Greenhill Cemetery, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
