Jimmie Lee Gay of Sycamore passed away uexpectedly on Sept. 12, 1990 at Tift General Hospital. Services were held at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church near Irwinville with interment in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gay was the son of Joel Jackson Gay and Hattie Ann Farmer Gay, Both of whom preceeded him in death. He was also preceeded in death by his brother Charlie H. W. Gay.
Mr. Gay is survived by his wife of 45 years, Exie Mae Leverett Gay and their children:
Sons; Jerry Gay (Linda), Larry Gay (Ruby) all of Tifton. Daughters; Barbara Clements (Wesley) of Tifton, Patsy Williams (Mike) and Dianne Driver (Gary) of Sycamore. He is also survived by his sisters; Magdaline Lockerman, Betty Whittle and Evelyn Haire Norman all of Tifton. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Tommy Gay, Chris Gay, Donnie Gay, Jamie Gay, Dawn Gay, Stephen Clements, Stephanie Clements, Serita Clements, Mickie Williams, Carrie Driver and Candace Driver.
Mr. Gay was an exceptional carpenter and also enjoyed farming.
