Fred L. Adams, son of Archibald David and Mary Snyder Adams, was born in Portland Township January 26 1861, and died in Prophetstown Ill. April 19 1937, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 23 days. He was united to Eleanor Adyah Brydia of Prophetstown in 1889. Four children blessed this union, all of whom survive. They are George B., and Mrs. R.H. Mathis of Prophetstown, Mrs. Herbert Bell of Sterling, and Mrs Paul Shaw of Janesville Wis. Mr. Adams is also survived by two brothers Walter B. of Prophetstown and Horace M. of Guthrie Okla., a sister Mrs. George Sieben of Houston Tex., and a sister-in-law, Miss Minnie Brydia, who has lived in his home for many years. He was preceded in death by three brothers George B., Henry C. and Frank and one sister Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church at 2 o'clock this afternoon with the Rev. I.C. Campbell in charge. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Out of deference to the deceased, all business places will be closed between the hours of 1 and 3 o'clock.
