Marba Helquist Palmer passed away Dec. 7, 1998 at the Mercy Medical Center in Durango, Colorado from complications following surgery.

Marba was born June 1, 1914 in Koosharem, Utah to Charles F. and Lillian Maria Hatch Helquist. She married Oren Kenneth Palmer July 5, 1930 in Cortez, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple April 2, 1931. She lived all her married life in Blanding , Utah, where they owned their home and farmed 160 acres. She loved her family very much. Her hobbies included cooking, making quilts, embroidery and caring for her garden and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Palmer, Blanding ; six children: LaRae (Kay) Bradford, Blanding ; Clyde (Floyd) Bleak, Mesa, AZ; Kenneth Vee (Peggy), Kanab; Bruce (Marita), Las Vegas, NV; Melba (Eddie Joe) Gilliland, Mesa, AZ; and Co. Sterling (Kathleen) Palmer, Roseville, CA; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Melba Black, Brigham City; sister-in-law, Mable Helquist, Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ada, Fay, Ina, May; and brothers, Ken, John, E.A., and Lynn; three granddaughters, one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at 12 noon, in the Blanding North Chapel, 100 East 200 North. friends may call Friday, 9-11 a.m. San Juan Mortuary, 370 So. Main. Interment, Blanding City Cemetery.
