She was born April 14, 1920, in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Cecilia Dailey Schlindwein.
She married Charles W. Johnson on Feb. 1, 1941, in Kewanee. He died Aug. 10, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley (and Loman) Rensink, Las Vegas; three sons, William "Bill" (and Wynne) Johnson and Charles Johnson, both of Kewanee, and Ronald* (and Paula) Johnson, Samuels, Idaho; three brothers, Edward (and Jane) Schlindwein, Princeton, Eugene (and Peg) Schlindwein, Sheffield, and Robert (and Caroline) Schlindwein, Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1938.
She had been employed as a waitress for Davidson's Restaurant, Allen's and the Elk's Club.
She had been a volunteer at the Red Cross and at Visitation Catholic School in Kewanee.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kewanee, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She enjoyed baking for family and friends and being involved at her church.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Rux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Center or to Abilities Plus in Kewanee.
