Annie is the second daughter of James Meekins and Martha (Bristow) Meekins. She married Stephen Andrew Cohee at Trinity Church, Elkton, Maryland in 1883. Stephen and Annie had eight children: William Rutter (1884-1945), Myrtle May (1886-1933), Alverta (1888-1950), James Franklin (1892-1953), Charles Homer (1896-1931), Mary Monica (1897-1918), Alice Lillian (1901-1975) and Agnes Gladys (1904-1983).

Annie died in 1904 on Pooles Island. She had a stroke shortly after giving birth to her youngest. She had one sister, Mary Elizabeth, who married John William Metz.
