First wife of John Rolfe, who traveled with him on the Ship "Sea Venture," during John's first voyage to the Virginia Colony. She was pregnant on the trip. A storm forced their ship off course to Bermuda. The baby girl, named Bermuda, was born on the island and soon died there.

The group remained on the island a total of about a year, repairing and recreating the ship. Then continued their journey toward Virginia Colony, where Sarah died in the spring of 1610. "p507 John Rolfe and wife . 9 months on Somers Island. Wife died on Somers Island (another name for Bermuda - Somers was an Admiral on this voyage of 9 ships) or shortly after arriving in Virginia"
